Sony не планирует производить LCD панели 10-го поколения В то время как производители LCD телевизоров первого ряда Sharp и Samsung Electronics планируют начать производство ж/к панелей десятого поколения (10G), компания Sony выбирает другой путь. Дело в том, что LCD панели десятого поколения имеют диагональ от 50 до 60 дюймов, однако в данный момент на рынке наиболее востребованы 40-дюймовые панели. Не исключая возможности того, что в скором времени LCD панели для телевизоров большого формата перейдут в разряд мейнстрима, и принимая во внимание неопределенность в отношении спроса, компания Sony приняла решение не устанавливать линию по производству 10G.

По мнению источников тайваньского рынка, ситуация, в которой Sony и Samsung избрали разные стратегии, в будущем позволит судить о том, насколько правильным оказалось решение каждой из них. Если тайваньские производители смогут обеспечить поставки панелей всех размеров Sony, у них будет шанс обойти корейские компании в рейтинге мировых поставщиков.
