Компания Toshiba планирует приступить к продажам HD DVD-плееров третьего поколения 1 октября 2007 г., сообщает Format War Central, ссылаясь на данные, опубликованные сайтом Amazon.com.

В продажу выйдут три модели: Toshiba HD-A3, HD-A30 и HD-A35. Первая модель по аналогии со своей предшественницей, HD-A2, будет открывать линейку. В ней будет отсутствовать поддержка Full HD, и максимальное разрешение составит 720 прогрессивной или 1080 чересстрочной развертки.

Последние две модели будут работать с полным разрешением высокой четкости. Оба устройства будут оборудованы интерфейсом HDMI, но в модели HD-A35 он будет поддерживать спецификацию версии 1.3, что означает более широкий цветовой охват на картинке. Кроме того, эта модель будет совместима со стандартом HDMI-CEC, который позволяет управлять телевизором, плеером и другими устройствами с одного пульта ДУ. Предположительно, новое поколение плееров будет отличаться от предыдущего улучшенной эргономикой и обновленным программным обеспечением с новыми функциями.

Стоимость плееров Toshiba HD-A3, HD-A30 и HD-A35 составит $300, $400 и $500 соответственно. Анонс запланирован на 6 августа.
