Компания Samsung Electronics официально анонсировала гибридный плеер BD-UP5000 Duo HD, поддерживающий оба формата высокой четкости: Blu-ray и HD DVD. Устройство позволяет воспроизводить фильмы с разрешением 720p, 1080i и 1080p (Full HD) с обоих типов носителей со скоростью 24 кадра в секунду. Вывод звука может осуществляться через коаксиальный и оптический цифровые выходы, стереоразъем или восьмиканальный аналоговый выход (есть встроенный декодер). Отмечается наличие порта Ethernet для подключения к локальной сети и функция "картинка в картинке". <br /><br />Плеер Samsung BD-UP5000 Duo HD поступит в продажу в IV квартале года, таким образом, компания выполняет свое обещание. Но вот стоимость плеера оказалась почти вдвое выше предполагаемой и составляет около $1050.
