С тех пор, как на мировую арену вышли и более-менее закрепились форматы HD DVD и Blu-ray, рынок DVD-камкордеров начал переживать не лучшие времена. Соблазняясь привлекательностью HD-носителей, потребители начали постепенно терять интерес к видеокамерам, работающим с DVD-дисками, вынуждая производителей снижать цены на морально устаревающую продукцию и выпускать устройства, по функциональности максимально приближенные к будущим Blu-ray- И HD DVD-новинкам.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1181405636_sony_sr5c_1.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Камкордер Sony вмещает 100 Гбайт видео' /></div><br />Этот камкордер, по сути, умеет всё то, что должна уметь Blu-ray-камера: снимать видео высокой чёткости и записывать его на вместительный носитель. Правда, в случае с HDR-SR5C видеоконтент пишется не на оптический диск, а на встроенный HDD, объём которого равен 100 Гбайт, что равноценно двум двухслойным дискам Blu-ray. Помимо внушительного объёма памяти, новинка может похвастать оптикой Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T с 10-кратным оптическим зумом, 2,1-мегапиксельным CMOS-сенсором, 2,7-дюймовым широкоэкранным ЖК-видоискателем и, разумеется, слотом для карт памяти Memory Stick Duo. Помимо этого, камера оснащена оптическим стабилизатором изображения, возможностью записи шестиканального звука и ещё несколькими функциями, носящими преимущественно развлекательный характер.<br /><br />На американском рынке камера появится в первой половине июля по цене около $1300.
