Сегодня на рынке 22-дюймовых жидкокристаллических панелей наблюдается дефицит, связанный с недостаточно высоким объёмом производства данного вида продукции. Ситуация, по всей видимости, не претерпит изменений вплоть до августа: именно на этот срок один из ведущих производителей жидкокристаллических панелей, компания LG.Philips LCD, планирует начать изготовление 22- и 32-дюймовых ЖК-панелей на производственных мощностях заводов 7,5-поколения (7,5G).

Результаты исследования рынка показывают, что, начиная с апреля сего года, рыночная стоимость 22-дюймовых панелей стабильно повышается. На данный момент изготовлением соответствующей продукции заняты производственные мощности заводов 5,5-поколения в объёме около 30 тысяч устройств в месяц. Использование производственных мощностей следующего поколения для выпуска 22-дюймовых ЖК-панелей может несколько снизить дефицит. Однако некоторые специалисты склонны думать, что даже подключение 7,5G-заводов способны лишь частично улучшить рыночную ситуацию.

Отметим, что основными конкурентами LG.Philips LCD на рынке ЖК-панелей являются компании Samsung Electronics и Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO). Однако у LG.Philips LCD есть и союзники: производством 22-дюймовых панелей для LG.Philips LCD заняты такие компании, как AU Optronics (AUO), CMO, Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) и HannStar Display.
