Philips выпустил 3 новые модели линейки ЖК-телевизоров Ambilight: с диагональю 42, 47 и 52 дюйма. Наряду с поддержкой разрешения 1080p, которая присутствовала и в более ранних моделях, здесь в качестве подсветки используются светоизлучающие диоды (LED), а максимальная частота обновления экрана теперь вдвое выше, чем обычно - 120 Гц. В телевизорах используется ряд фирменных технологий, включая Perfect Pixel HD для повышения четкости изображения.

42-дюймовая модель (42PFL9832D) в отличие от других оснащена динамиками с симуляцией окружающего звука. Более того, здесь используется интеллектуальная технология Full Surround Ambilight, которая, в соответствии с изображением, создает подсветку с каждой стороны экрана. Устройство обладает богатыми коммуникационными возможностями - так здесь имеется 2 порта HDMI, один USB, мультиформатный кард-ридер и порт CableCard.

Продажи телевизоров начнутся с июня по сентябрь. Младшая модель поступит по цене $3 тыс., 47-дюймовая (47PFL9732D) за $2,8 тыс. и старшая (52PFL7432D) за $3,6 тыс.
