Samsung представил прототип 52-дюймовой ЖК-панели

Компания Samsung Electronics показала прототип первой ЖК-панели, изготовленной на заводе 8-го поколения, завершение строительства которого запланировано до конца года. Панель имеет длину диагонали 52 дюйма и спроектирована с учетом поддержки полного разрешения высокой четкости и 120-герцового обновления экрана.

Совместное предприятие Samsung и Sony (S-LCD) готово начать массовое производство панелей 8-го поколения с размерами 2,2x2,5 м в августе 2007 г. При этом на новой линии будут в основном изготавливаться панели с длиной диагонали от 52 дюймов и выше. К концу текущего года S-LCD планирует выпускать до 50 тыс. стеклянных пластин в месяц.

По словам управляющего направлением ЖК-телевизоров Samsung Ли Санг-Вана (Lee Sang-Wan), уже во II половине следующего года люди смогут смотреть телевизор с данной матрицей, находясь у себя дома.

Таким образом, компания Samsung станет второй по счету после японского Sharp, запустившей в массовое производство ЖК-панели 8-го поколения. Sharp это сделал в прошлом августе.
