Blu-ray диски. Миллонная отметка Противостояние Blu-ray и HD DVD форматов достигло следующего этапа: диски Blu-ray были проданы в количестве более, чем миллион с момента запуска формата год назад. Согласно Home Media Research, Blu-ray достиг 70% продаж всех HD фильмов в первой четверти 2007-го года (832,530 против 359,300), и 7 из 10 наиболее продаваемых фильмов HD.
Даже из тех нескольких релизов, которые доступны в обоих форматах, как например "Отступники", покупатели предпочитают Blu-ray, чем HD DVD версии.
Обладатели HD DVD и фанаты могут до сих пор указывать на продажи своего формата на Amazon -- как например недавние релизы "Матрицы" и "Козырных тузов" -- но учитывая тот факт, что Disney выпускает все новинки на Blu-ray, как например "Тачки" и обе части "Пиратов", Blu-ray Disc Association вряд ли перестанет выпускать пресс релизы о своих новых победах.
