Компания Toshiba объявила начале поставок нового HD DVD-проигрывателя. Модель, именуемая производителем HD-A20, относится к классу недорогих плееров, его стоимость составляет всего $500. Напомним, что во время CES компания говорила, что к моменту начала продаж стоимость этого устройства составит на $100 больше.<br /><br />В отличие от более дешевой модели HD-A2, поддерживающей только 1080i, новый Toshiba HD-A20 способен обеспечить воспроизведение с разрешением 1080p. К сожалению, новинка не поддерживает HDMI 1.3, который можно обнаружить в решениях Sony BD-1200 или PlayStation 3. Имея в наличии только HDMI 1.2, плеер HD-A20 будет лишен поддержки YCC, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, а также автоматической аудио синхронизации. Во-первых, это пресловутая игровая приставка Sony PlayStation3 (Blu-Ray) с жестким диском емкостью 20 Гбайт, во-вторых, Xbox360 плюс внешний HD DVD-привод. Правда, в обоих случаях существуют некотрые проблемы. Бюджетную Sony PlayStation3 очень сложно найти даже сейчас. Более того, в скором времени она вовсе пропадет с прилавков. В свою очередь, Xbox360 предлагает только VGA-выход. Конечно, Xbox360 Elite предложит и HDMI, но только версии 1.2, что не так уж и здорово.
