Их главной особенностью является режим 24p True Film, великолепно подходящий для просмотра фильмов в их оригинальном формате при использовании совместимого проигрывателя, такого как BDP-S1E Blu-ray, и частоты обновления экрана 100Hz с технологией Motionflow. Согласно заявлению Sony: "Этот [Motionflow] алгоритм, разработанный Sony, создает и добавляет дополнительные кадры, основываясь на оригинале, что добавляет движению плавность и реалистичность. Motionflow +100Hz работает с обоими источниками, обеспечивая плавность, как в фильмах, так и в стандартном ТВ и DVD. Особенностью серии D3000 является 10-битная ЖК панель, обеспечивающая 1024 оттенка градации между цветами.
