Philips намерен свернуть производство плазменных панелей в ближайшей перспективе и сосредоточиться на развитии ЖК-направления, заявил исполнительный директор Philips Consumer Electronics <b>Руди Провуст</b> (Rudy Provoost). Исключение составят австралийский и североамериканский рынки, сообщает DigiTimes. К примеру, в Китае компания уже в этом году рассчитывает прекратить продажу телевизоров данной категории.<br /><br />Philips в настоящее время является ключевым игроком на рынке плазменных телевизоров наряду с Panasonic, LG и Samsung. По данным DisplaySearch, компании принадлежит 10% мирового рынка плазмы. При этом на рынке ЖК-телевизоров Philips занимает второе место после южнокорейской Samsung. Ее доля здесь составляет 13%.<br /><br />В этом году Philips планирует продать 9 млн. ЖК-телевизиров. В прошлом году этот показатель составлял 5 млн. Заметим, что всего в 2007 году, по данным iSuppli, будет продано 75,2 млн. ЖК-телевизоров, что на 42,7% больше, нежели в 2006, когда было реализовано 52,7 млн. телевизоров.<br /><br />Напомним: в прошлом году о решении прекратить производство плазменных телевизоров заявила Sony. Компания объявила о намерении сосредоточиться на выпуске жидкокристаллических телевизоров с диагональю 40 дюймов и более. Первое направление оказалось убыточным для японской компании. Согласно официальным данным, объем продаж плазменных панелей Sony в 2005 году составил всего 100 тыс. штук, в то время как годом ранее этот показатель был в три раза выше.
