Sharp представил 3 модели ЖК-телевизоров с самыми большими диагоналями в мире, длина которых составляет 108 дюймов (около 2,74 м). Впервые телевизор с такой диагональю был представлен компанией в начале года на выставке CES 2007.

Все представленные модели являются прототипами и не имеют названий. По словам представителей компании, телевизоры способны отображать разрешение вплоть до 4096x2160 пикселей (ранее сообщалось, что максимальное разрешение составляет 1920x1080 точек).

По словам исполнительного вице-президента компании в Европе Ганса Клейса (Hans Klies), телевизоры обязательно поступят в продажу. Он подчеркнул, что покупатели смогут внести во внешний облик телевизора собственные штрихи, например, инкрустировать корпус телевизора драгоценными камнями.
