Правда, речь идёт только об американской рознице, на которую компания Sony делает одну из основных ставок в борьбе за мировой рынок игровых приставок. Остальные рынки, в том числе европейский, который и так больше всех рискует несправедливо пострадать от региональных ценовой и "аппаратной" политики компании, скорее всего, продолжат и дальше страдать от недостаточных объёмов поставок PS3.<br />Надо отметить, с дефицитом поставок компания столкнулась ещё до начала официального старта продаж консоли нового поколения. Считается, что виной тому стали недостаточные объёмы выпуска сине-фиолетовых лазеров задействованных в Blu-ray приводах консоли. До второй половины прошлого года Sony получала "синие" лазеры преимущественно у своего партнёра, японской компании Nichia. <br />Но уже в ноябре сине-фиолетовые лазеры в больших объёмах начала выпускать компания Sharp. И огласно сообщениям сетевых источников,Sharp значительно увеличивает поставки лазерных считывающих головок (Pick-Up Heads, PUH), которые необходимы для поддержки дисков формата Blu-ray;так же стало известно о том, что и сама Sony ввела дополнительные мощности по производству аналогичной продукции. Вопрос дефицита полупроводниковых лазеров нужной длины волны, таким образом, решён, и компания получает возможность нарастить поставки PS3.<br /><br />К концу апреля в США будет отправлено дополнительно 2 млн. новых консолей. Общий итог полугодовых продаж PlayStastion 3, следовательно, достигнет к маю 6 млн. единиц.
