Хочется верить, что семейство Radeon X2900 не только внедрит DirectX 10 в линейку продуктов AMD-ATI и отнимет на какое-то время корону 3D у компании NVIDIA, но и принесёт новые видеовозможности.<br /><br />Наличие врождённой поддержки HDMI в топовом чипе R600 сомнений вызывать не должно, поскольку процесс имплантации новомодного интерфейса в игровые видеокарты начался ещё со второй половины прошлого года. Подтверждением факта присутствия HDMI в R600 могут послужить старые слайды AMD-ATI, опубликованные в своё время китайскими источниками.<br /><br />Материалы презентаций несколько устарели, так как сроком релиза R600 обозначен сезон праздничных распродаж конца прошлого года. Однако перенос даты анонса вряд ли как-то повлиял на поддержку HDMI. Кроме того, данный документ указывает на наличие технологии защиты контента HDCP и возможность передачи звука через мультимедийный интерфейс.<br /><br />Сайт The Inquirer пошёл дальше с информацией о новшествах в следующем поколении графики AMD-ATI. Утверждается, что кроме HDMI чип R600 поддерживает новый интерфейс DisplayPort, которому пророчат судьбу преемника аналогового и цифрового портов VGA и DVI. DisplayPort, как и HDMI, позволяет передавать одновременно видео и звуковой сигнал. Его пропускная способность более чем в два раза выше возможностей HDMI, а максимальная длина кабеля в три раза больше. Кроме всего прочего, стандарт DisplayPort предусматривает собственную технологию защиты данных со 128-битным шифрованием DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection).<br /><br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1172093786_41542.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='AMD Radeon X2900 поддерживает HDMI и DisplayPort' /></div><br />Судя по всему, видеокарты из серии Radeon X2900 смогут получать звуковой сигнал через шину PCI Express x16. Далее он будет обработан и передан вместе с видео через интерфейс HDMI или DisplayPort. Подробные фотографии Radeon X2900 XTX дали понять, что новая видеокарта никаких других выходных разъёмов, кроме двух DVI и одного S-Video, не имеет. Значит, звук и видео будут транслироваться через порт DVI. Британский обозреватели указывают на то, что в комплекте с видеокартами этой серии будут поставляться специальные переходники DVI-HDMI.<br /><br />Обозреватели The Inquirer уверены в поддержке чипом R600 одновременной работы с двумя интерфейсами HDMI. Новые видеокарты из серии Radeon X2900 позволят выводить сразу на два приёмника звук и видео в разрешении 1920 x 1080 (1080p) или 2560 x 1440 (1440p).
