Придавая дополнительный толчок распространению формата HD DVD, компания Universal Studios Home Entertainment (USHE) представит в 2007 году в данном формате более 100 новых фильмов и популярных телевизионных шоу. Среди них и не утерявшая своих поклонников гангстерская драма "Лицо со шрамом", и новая комедия "40-летний девственник", и первый сезон телесериала "Звездный крейсер "Галактика" (Battlestar Galactica S1), и номинировавшаяся на "Оскар" драма "Горбатая гора". Эти картины присоединятся в ближайшее время к еще дюжине других названий и выйдут в один день со своими версиями на DVD.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1170855961_025.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Universal Studios выпустит на HD DVD в 2007 г. более 100 фильмов' /></div><br />С момента представления формата HD DVD в апреле 2006 года USHE выпустила на дисках данного формата 60 наименований кинофильмов, и в настоящий момент гордится четырьмя из них, вошедшими за прошедший период в десятку наиболее продаваемых кинофильмов на HD DVD, среди них - "Казино", "Миссия "Серенити", "Бесстрашный" и "Полиция Майами".<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1170855912_universal.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Universal Studios выпустит на HD DVD в 2007 г. более 100 фильмов' /></div><br />Библиотека фильмов студии на HD DVD пополняется. Список релизов 2007 года открыла 18 января картина "Мумия возвращается", следом, 23 января, вышла драма "Горбатая гора" с Хитом Леджером и Джейком Гилленхаалом в главных ролях. Далее, 6 февраля, выйдет номинированный на "Золотой Глобус" "Голливудленд". Более 90% фильмов, запланированных Universal к выпуску в 2007 году, будут изданы на комбинированных дисках. HD DVD-версия и стандартная DVD-версия фильма будут содержаться на одном диске. <br /><br />"Представляя большинство фильмов на комбинированных дисках, мы вполне удовлетворим желание потребителя, мы предоставляем ему наиболее экономически выгодную возможность, посмотреть любимый фильм он сможет на DVD- или HD DVD-плейере", - сказал Крэйг Корнблау, президент Universal Studios Home Entertainment. <br /><br />Среди готовящихся к выпуску в 2007 году на HD DVD фильмов - номинированная на "Оскар" футуристическая драма "Дитя человеческое", эпическая драма "Ложное искушение" (The Good Shepherd), криминальная комедия "Козырные тузы" - это фильмы вышедшие в прошлом году.
