Еще в мае прошлого года компания Microsoft заявляла о том, что разрабатывает новый формат фотографий «Windows Media Photo». Сейчас формат получил новое название — HD Photo. Microsoft совершенно ясно заявляет о своих намерениях — корпорация планирует вытеснить JPEG с лидирующей позиции формата сжатия фотографий.<br /><br />Появиться новый формат должен вместе с Windows Vista. Photoshop CS3 так же обзаведется поддержкой HD Photo.<br /><br />Качество сжатия в сравнении с JPEG и JPEG 2000 при одинаковом размере конечного файла можно оценить по изображению выше. Идеальное сжатие без потери качества отвечает черному цвету. Более светлые участки обозначают искаженные по сравнению с оригиналом данные.<div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1170854907_021.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Microsoft придумали hdFoto' /></div>Как можно видеть (по крайней мере, на этом официальном сравнении), самым некачественным форматом сжатия из этих трех является древний старичок JPEG, после него идет его наследник JPEG 2000, а самым качественным является HD Photo. Что ж, если это действительно так, эта новость не может не радовать.
