Согласно появившимся в Сети слухам, корпорация Sony решила вернуться на рынок плазменных телевизоров. Более того, на эту тему уже ведутся переговоры с компанией Fujitsu Hitachi Plasma Display (FHP). Правда, представитель Sony в Тайване заявил, что считает такой вариант развития событий маловероятным, особенно учитывая факт строительства S-LCD – фабрики по производству TFT LCD восьмого поколения (8G) совместно с Samsung Electronics. Тем не менее источники в Sony сообщают, что предварительные консультации с FHP действительно ведутся, но к единому мнению стороны пока не пришли.<br /><br />По данным самой Sony, объём выпуска компанией PDP TV составил 100 тысяч штук в 2005 году, при этом снижение составило 67% по сравнению с 300 тысяч штук в предыдущем году. При этом неуклонно снижался уровень продаж. В результате в августе 2006 года Кацуми Ихара (Katsumi Ihara), исполняющий обязанности директора подразделения компании Sony, курирующего видео-бизнес, объявил о прекращении производства и выходе с этого рынка. Интересно, что ещё в ноябре прошлого года он же заявлял, что вероятность возвращения компании в этот сегмент рынка равна нулю.<br /><br />Объём производства FHP составляет в настоящее время порядка 2,4 миллионов штук и к концу этого года должен достичь уровня 3,6 миллионов. Несмотря на рост объёмов производства, доминируют на этом рынке LG Electronics (LGE), Matsushita Electric Industrial и Samsung SDI, суммарная доля которых составляет 86% по данным на третий квартал прошлого года. Так что FHP вполне заинтересована в сотрудничестве с Sony для улучшения своих позиций. Заинтересована в этом, по мнению аналитиков, и сама Sony, на случай ухудшения ситуации в сегменте ЖК-телевизоров.<br /><br />Отметим, что все ближайшие конкуренты в лице Samsung, LGE, Matsushita и Philips имеют крупные производственные мощности как по производству LCD TV, так и PDP TV. При этом, по прогнозам аналитиков, объём рынка плазменных панелей к 2010 году достигнет 30 миллионов штук.
