Изменения коснулись всех моделей: от младшей DCR-DVD108 (представлена на фотографии), до high-end DVD508, пришедшей на смену DVD505. DVD108 и DVD308 с обновленными линзами, а DVD408 и DVD508 получили поддержку Dual Record - возможность одновременно вести запись видео и делать фотографии. На этот раз в сегменте потребительского HD.</em><br /><br />Новинки знаменуют приход нового формата. Нет, не нового формата линз, пока речь идет о потребительском формате хранения HD-видео – AVCHD. HDV уже достаточно давно использует MiniDV-кассеты в качестве носителя, однако за последний год Sony, Panasonic и еще несколько производителей  активно продвигают AVCHD на базе MPEG-4.<br /><br />Итак, о самих камерах: было представлено две AVCHD-камеры и две HDV. <br /><br />HD-камеры серии UX записывают на DVD и используют стандарт AVCHD, а серия HC поддерживает HDV, записывая на MiniDV. Тяжеловесы, HDR-UX7 и HDR-HC7, оснащены тремя мегапиксельными CMOS сенсорами для видео и шестью мегапикселями, предназначенных для фотографий, которые будут храниться на картах памяти стандарта MemoryStickDuo Pro. Так же стоит отметить наличие входа для подключения микрофона.<br /><br />Представители лёгкого веса – HDR-UX5 и HDR-HC5 – обладают CMOS с разрешением 2 мегапикселядля видео и 4 мегапикселя для «статичных снимков». Микрофоны в данных моделях встроенные.
