Корпорация Toshiba в начале следующего месяца планирует поделиться планами по выпуску устройств, поддерживающих работу с оптическими носителями формата HD DVD. <br /><br />Как сообщает PC World со ссылкой на заявления представителей Toshiba, 7 января в преддверии выставки Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2007) корпорация проведет специальную конференцию, на которой будут обнародованы детали относительно новых продуктов. В Toshiba не стали уточнять, о чем именно пойдет речь, однако не исключено, что в ходе мероприятия будет объявлено о снижении цен на бытовые плееры HD DVD. <br /><br />Напомним, что первые плееры HD DVD корпорация Toshiba продемонстрировала в ходе выставки CES 2006. Около месяца назад Toshiba представила второе поколение проигрывателей HD DVD. Модели HD-XF2 и HD-XA2, по сравнению с HD DVD плеерами Toshiba первого поколения, характеризуются меньшей толщиной корпуса и улучшенной производительностью, в частности, ускоренной загрузкой дисков и более коротким временем отклика. Стоимость аппаратов HD-XF2 и HD-XA2 составляет, соответственно, 425 долларов и 950 долларов США. В перспективе Toshiba рассчитывает уменьшить цену плееров HD DVD до 300 долларов. <br /><br />Примечательно, что 8 января, то есть, на следующий день после планируемой конференции Toshiba о планах по выпуску новых устройств намерены рассказать компании, поддерживающие конкурирующий с HD DVD формат Blu-ray. Впрочем, какие-либо подробности об этом мероприятии в настоящее время отсутствуют.
