Общепризнанный лидер в области разработки и лицензирования цифровых интерфейсов американская компания Silicon Image сделала еще один шаг в сторону продвижения HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) в сферу компьютерной и бытовой электроники. Silicon Image представила два новых HDMI-контроллера из семейства VastLane, позволяющих передавать цифровые звуковые и видеоданные от компьютера к монитору или телевизионной панели класса HDTV. <br /><br />Новые микросхемы VastLane SiI1392-3 и SiI1932-3 дадут возможность производителям строить простые и недорогие схемы для трансляции цифрового контента от видеокарты или системной платы с HDMI-выходом на телевизоры с интерфейсом HDMI или на мониторы недалекого будущего, которые будут снабжены разъемом HDMI. В силу обратной совместимости HDMI с DVI (Digital Visual Interface) посредством новых чипов можно осуществлять передачу видеоданных на современные компьютерные мониторы с цифровым входом DVI. <br /><br />К примеру, владелец персонального компьютера со спутниковым HDTV-тюнером или приводом HD-DVD/Blu-ray и видеокартой с распаянным новым HDMI-контроллером, сможет легко передать по одному кабелю длиной 10 и более метров высококачественное видео и звук на AV-ресивер с HDMI и далее на HD-телевизор. <br /><br />Новые 340-МГц чипы VastLane SiI1392-3 и VastLane SiI1932-3 обеспечивают внушительную пропускную способность до 10,2 Гб/с, что позволяет работать с компьютерными мониторами на разрешениях до 2560 x 1600 пикселей (WQXGA) и HD-панелями в режимах до 1440p (Quad High Definition (QHD, 2560 x 1440 пикселей). Для сравнения, предыдущее поколение чипов SiI13923 и SiI1932, работая на частотах до 165 МГц, могли гарантировать только разрешения до 1600 x 1200 пикселей (UXGA). <br /><br />Главное отличие микросхемы VastLane SiI1932-3 от SiI1392-3 заключается в том, что она работает с сигналами формата TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) графического чипа дискретной видеокарты. Трансмиттер SiI1392-3 работает с сигналом Intel SDVO интегрированных графических чипов. Оба контроллера поддерживают предпоследнюю версию стандарта защиты данных HDCP 1.2 (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). Чипы упакованы в 64-пиновых корпусах QFN. Производитель сообщает, что новые микросхемы уже доступны для заказа пробных партий. <br /><br />Вовсе не секрет, рынок мультимедийных интерфейсов стремительно растет. По мнению специалистов из компании In-Stat, с учетом текущего года уже выпущено около 106 млн. мониторов с интерфейсом DVI и около 44 млн. HD-телевизоров, оснащенных HDMI.<br />
