По сообщению источника, организация DVD Forum, в чьи полномочия входит стандартизация оптических носителей и форматов записи, опубликовала предварительные спецификации стандарта HD DVD-ROM, ориентированного исключительно на китайский рынок. <br /><br />Версия 9.9 этого документа вчера увидела свет на конференции DVD Forum, проходящей в Японии. <br /><br />Инициаторами подготовки специальной версии для Китая выступили китайская сторона, в частности, национальный исследовательский центр Optical Memory National Engineering Research Center и промышленная группа China Electronics Technology Group. Выработкой стандарта занялась рабочая группа Working Group 11 for Blue-Laser DVD. <br /><br />На физическом уровне «китайский HD DVD-ROM» практически не отличается от оригинала: это 12-сантиметровый диск из двух 0,6-мм пластин с одним регистрирующим слоем емкостью 15 Гб. Различие заключается в способе модуляции. В HD DVD используется ETM (8 бит данных / 12 бит в канале модуляции), а в локализованной версии будет использоваться FSM (4 бит данных /6 бит в канале модуляции). <br /><br />Основываясь на физическом формате, планируется определить собственный формат видеозаписи. Использование модифицированного формата продиктовано стремлением изолировать китайский рынок HD DVD от мирового. <br /><br />Завершение работы намечено на декабрь. Итоговый стандарт получит название «HD DVD-ROM part1 Ver 10.0 for China only».<br />
