Телевизионная техника, производимая компанией Philips, полностью готова к HDTV. Начиная с 2005 года, все современные жидкокристаллические и плазменные телевизоры, имеют логотип «HD Ready», и могут быть использованы для приема сигнала телевидения высокой четкости.<br /><br />Около 40% модельного ряда жидкокристаллических и плазменных телевизоров Philips получили дополнительную букву в названии. Это литера «D», обозначающая наличие встроенного тюнера сигнала DVB-T, наиболее актуального в данный момент для Российских потребителей. В данный момент при поддержке правительства РФ осуществляется плановый переход основного эфирного телевещания на работу с цифровым сигналом DVB-T. Поэтому, пользователи, желающие приобрести телевизор сегодня, покупая устройства с литерой «D» в названии избавят себя от необходимости в дальнейшем приобретать какое-либо другое внешнее устройство, предназначенное для приема сигнала в формате DVB-T.<br /><br />Все модели телевизоров постоянно совершенствуются, благодаря чему качество изображения серьезно улучшается с выходом каждой новой модели. Так, в разряд ключевых особенностей продуктов 2006 года, следует отнести четвертое поколение технологии Ambilight, имеющей название Ambilight Full Surround, позволяющей создавать фоновую подсветку вокруг всего экрана, а также, усовершенствованную технологию Pixel Plus 3 HD. Основное отличие новой версии Pixel Plus ото всех предыдущих заключается в возможности обработки полноэкранного видеоизображения формата 1080p с использованием собственных алгоритмов, позволяющих минимизировать потери качества, заметные при динамической смене видеоряда. Следует напомнить, что предыдущие разработки, такие как Pixel Plus 2 и Pixel Plus 2 HD работали с изображением значительно меньшего разрешения, поэтому теперь можно говорить, что с выходом Pixel Plus 3 HD зрителю предлагается наиболее точное, качественное и достоверное изображение.
