Цифровой интерфейс HDMI пока ещё медленно, но уже верно завоёвывает позиции на рынке дискретных графических решений, оттесняя уже привычный DVI. Вот и компания ASUSTeK Computer представила на выставке Computex 2006 две новые видеокарты на основе графических процессоров от ATI и NVIDIA, поддерживающие HDMI.<br />Первой HDMI-совместимой платой является низкопрофильная видеокарта на основе ATI Radeon X1600 Pro, не менее интересна и вторая новинка на базе NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT. Как известно, цифровой интерфейс HDMI позволяет передавать не только видеоданные, но и поддерживает передачу потока аудио, что вызывает некоторые проблемы с организацией передачи звука.<br />Компания ASUS решила оснастить видеокарты S/PDIF-коннектором, отвечающим за прием аудиосигнала от звуковой карты. Стоит отметить, что обе видеокарты поддерживают систему защиты контента от незаконного копирования HDCP, и полностью поддерживают работу с операционной системой нового поколения Windows Vista. Для пользователей, предпочитающих старый, но проверенные временем интерфейс, компания ASUS реализовала поддержку цифрового DVI-разъёма, присутствует также возможность подключения монитора посредством интерфейса D-sub.
