Сюжет: Короткий киберпанковский мультфильм Шейна Экера «9», номинировавшийся на «Оскар» в 2005 году, настолько впечатлил Тима Бёртона, что тот с готовностью выступил продюсером полнометражной масштабной версии этого анимационного эпика. А сопродюсером выступил режиссер "Дозоров" Тимур Бекмамбетов.
Мультфильм рассказывает о жизни тряпичных кукол в каком-то постиндустриальном мире. У каждой из кукол на спине написан номер — это и есть их имена. И, как не сложно догадаться, главный герой носит номер 9 и именно ему предстоит сражаться с насекомообразным индустриальным монстром, при помощи какого-то светящегося прибора похищающим души его друзей.
