Корейская компания iRiver объявила о выпуске своего первого портативного HD-плеера Smart HD. Согласно опубликованным в сети Интернет данным, это устройство оснащёно экраном с диагональю 3,5 дюйма и разрешением в 480х320 точек. Помимо ставших уже стандартом, форматов AVI, WMV, MP4, TP, MPG и ASF, новинка поддерживает и весьма популярный ныне контейнер MKV, который наиболее часто используют пользователи ПК для хранения нелицензионных копий кинофильмов.

Что касается аудиоформатов, то проигрыватель совместим с MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, APE, WAV и AC3. Воспроизводимые им графические файлы: JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF, RAW. Стоит отметить также, что аппарат способен "читать" файлы в таких форматах, как TXT, DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF, HWP, HTML, HTM и MHTML.

Smart HD будет представлен в четырёх различных конфигурациях: Basic 8GB стоимостью в 229 000 вон (около $204), DMB 8GB (279 000 вон (около $248)), Education 16GB (299 000 вон (около $266)) и Wifi + DMB 16GB (349 000 вон (около $310)). На сегодняшний день известно о
продажах устройства только на территории Южной Кореи.
