Именно Джепсен изобрела недорогой дисплей, потребляющий минимальное количество энергии и хорошо читающийся при солнечном свете. <br /><br />В настоящее время Pixel Qi разрабатывает сверхэкономичный дисплей на основе электронной бумаги, который подойдет для установки как в ноутбуки, так и в портативные электронные книги. Энергопотребление такого экрана будет в 5-10 раз ниже, чем у обычных ЖК-дисплеев, а толщина составит около одного миллиметра. Кроме того, дисплеи нового типа будут хорошо читаться при прямом солнечном свете. <br /><br />Компания Pixel Qi работает над экранами различных размеров в сотрудничестве с производителями портативных устройств. Ожидается, что применение дисплеев со сверхнизким энергопотреблением позволит довести время автономной работы ноутбуков до 20 и даже 40 часов. Начало производства экранов запланировано на вторую половину следующего года. <br />
