Кабельные телекомпании США теряют подписчиков


В третьем квартале 2010 впервые было зарегистрировано снижение доходов кабельных телекомпаний США от абонентской платы. Причина в том, что в общей сложности 500000 абонентов отказались от услуг кабельного TB.

Наибольшие потери пришлись на долю компании Comcast, потерявшей 275000 клиентов, чуть лучше дела у Time Warner – потеря 155000 абонентов. Charter Communications и Cablevision повезло немного больше, они потеряли 63800 и 24500 соответственно.

Естественно, причинами случившегося были названы тяжелая экономическая ситуация и более удачливые конкуренты. Некоторые аналитики отмечают при этом сложившуюся в некторых компаниях порочную практику копменсации потерь за счет оставшихся абонентов. Так в Comcast абонплата выросла до $136 в месяц, хотя в Cablevision осталась на прежнем довольно высоком уровне $ 149 в месяц.

В то же время в США увеличивается популярность интернет сервисов типа Apple TV и Google TV. И неудивительно, что крупные кабельные компании, ощутив конкуренцию, частично закрывают доступ к своим сетевым ресурсам обладателям Google телевизоров, о чем недавно сообщалось в мировых СМИ.
