Для передачи сигнала использовался широкополосный интернет со скоростью 24 гигабайта в секунду.<br /><br />Разрешение принимаемой картинки составило 7 680 x 4 320 пикселей, что в 16 раз четче, чем Full HDTV. Для приема использовался разработанный NHK 103 дюймовый плазменный телевизор. Съемки в Лондоне велись на разработанную также NHK Super Hi-Vision видеокамеру. <br /><br />Предполагается, что к началу Лондонской Олимпиады в 2012 году в Super Hi-Vision TV будут транслироваться спортивные соревнования в Японию и США.
