Этот Blu-ray рекордер фирма позиционирует как один из самых тонких (35 мм) и недорогих плееров с поддержкой нового формата большой емкости – BDXL.<br /><br />Компания считает, что после массового распространения BDXL дисков емкостью 100  ГБ такие Blu-ray плееры потеснят более массивные с встроенными жесткими дисками. Вес демонстрировавшегося плеера составлял 2 кг  без блока питания, который выполнен в виде отдельного блока. Для снижения цены серийных образцов Sharp считает возможным убрать некоторые мало востребованные  функции сегодняшних Blu-ray плееров.<br /><br />О сроках появления коммерческой модели и ее стоимости ничего пока не сообщается.
