В 2008 году Toshiba совместно с Panasonic вложили $191 млн. в строительство на севере Японии завода по производству OLED дисплеев для мобильных телефонов мощностью 1,5 млн.  штук в месяц. <br /><br />Но 30 сентября представитель компании Масахиро Ките заявил о замораживании разработок и производства OLED панелей. Компания собирается сфокусировать усилия в продвижении перспективных проектов на основе традиционной LCD технологии.<br />
