Компания Verbatim начинает продажи новых 25 гигабайтных дисков со скоростью записи 6x. Диски BD-R и BD-R DL продаются в упаковках по 5 и 10 штук.

Время записи составляет менее 15 минут. Внешняя сторона диска может полностью запечатываться с помощью струйных принтеров.
В BD-R и BD-R DL используется вновь разработанная неорганическая технология MABL, обеспечивающая высокое качество записи и длительный срок хранения данных. Для защиты рабочей поверхности диска от царапин, пыли и отпечатков пальцев использована технология Hard Coat.

Исследовательский отдел компании разработал и 100 Blu-ray гигабайтные диски, которые ожидаются в продаже весной следующего года.
