Передатчик работает в частотном диапазоне 5 гГц, занимая полосу частот в 40 мГц, при этом эффективное расстояние составляет около 30 метров, при наличии препятствий для распространяемого сигнала в виде межкомнатных перегородок. Время задержки распространения сигнала менее одной миллисекунды. Интерфейс WHDI поддерживает систему защиты от несанкционированного копирования HDCP  2.0.<br /><br />WHDI сегодня конкурирует  с такими беспроводными интерфейсами как WiDi, WirelessHD и WiGi.
