Обе модели поддерживают видео и аудио в 3D формате, BD-HDW700 имеет 2 терабайтный жесткий диск, а BD-HDW70 только на 1 терабайт. <br /><br />В этих рекордерах используется новый фирменный транскодер Sharp с запатентованной технологией сжатия видео в высоком качестве. При этом объем сохраняемых данных увеличивается до 10 раз. Новые рекордеры имеют два цифровых и один аналоговый телетюнеры, и поэтому позволяют одновременно записывать два телефильма,  <br /><br />Интерфейсные возможности BD-HDW700 и BD-HDW70 включают: i.LINK, IEEE 802.11a/b/g и HDMI, Ethernet. Пишущие BD плееры поддерживают диски форматов: BD-R/RE, DVD-R/RW и DVD-R DL. Продажи Sharp BD-HDW700 и BD-HDW70 начнутся в Японии в июле.
