Дисплеи на основе OLET будут, в сравнении с OLED, намного эффективнее (по оценкам исследователей от 2 до 100 раз).<br /><br />Структура OLET дисплеев состоит из трех слоев, с общей толщиной 62 нанометра. Кроме светоизлучающего слоя есть управляющий. Поэтому новый тип оптоэлектроники будет использоваться не только в дисплеях следующего поколения, но и во внутри кристальных оптических интерфейсах.<br />
