Samsung разработал более эффективную микросхему для управления отображением картинки на экранах 3D телевизоров.

Особенность этого чипа – новый корпус, позволяющий более эффективно отводить тепло от работающего с полной загрузкой чипа. Современные HDTV нуждаются в эффективных системах охлаждения. Некоторые телевизоры оснащаются даже несколькими вентиляторами. Но все же лучше когда в телевизоре ничего не крутится и не шумит.

Новые чипы начнут устанавливать с 4-го квартала нынешнего года в LCD телевизоры, работающие с повышенными частотами обработки изображения. В первую очередь это относится к 3D моделям, а также к использующим 200 Гц частоту обновления экранного изображения и 120 Гц телевизорам с большими экранами.

Новая технология «упаковки» чипа называется ultra Low Temperature Chip On Film (u-LTCOF). Кристалл микросхемы располагается на специальной полимерной пленке, которая эффективно отводит выделяющееся при работе на высоких частотах тепло.
