Модуль источника включает мощный лазер с тремя первичными цветами: красным, зеленым и голубым (RGB). Общая одновременная мощность составляет 21 ватт (эквивалентно 5000 люмен), это минимальное значение для промышленных лазеров.  <br /><br />В будущем такие модули будут использоваться в домашних проекторах (от 1000 люмен) и кинотеатральных (до 10 000 люмен). Лазерные проекторы в сравнении с традиционными ламповыми будут иметь ряд преимуществ:<br />- Более высокая яркость (реализуется установкой нескольких модулей)<br />- Увеличенный срок службы источника света<br />- Пониженное энергопотребление<br />- Расширенный цветовой диапазон и повышенная контрастность<br />- Минимальный набор оптики<br /><br />В настоящее время Sony передает технологию своей дочерней компании Sony Manufacturing Systems Corporation (SMS), начало продаж во второй половине 2010 года.
