В 2014 году, по мнению аналитиков из компании Futuresource, в США более половины телезрителей станут владельцами 3D телевизоров. И хотя на сегодняшний день явно не хватает телепрограмм, видеороликов, кинофильмов и игр в объемном разрешении, все ведущие производители видеотехники заявили о разработке новых моделей в 3D формате. <br /><br />Одновременно с телевизорами будут нарастать объемы продаж 3D плееров и игровых приставок. В переходной период вероятно популярными будут модели с логотипом 3D Ready, позволяющие при необходимости сделать свою видеотехнику полностью совместимой с 3D форматом. Подобный вариант развития использует Sony, продающая Blu-ray плееры и игровые консоли PS3 с возможностью апгрейда в 3D путем замены прошивки. Для получения из 3D Ready телевизора совместимого с 3D форматом  придется еще докупить активные LCD очки и для управления ими беспроводной передатчик. <br />
