Sony прекратила производство в Японии OLED телевизоров и распродает складские запасы. В Европе и Америке продажи этого супертонкого (3 мм) телевизионного дисплея с диагональю экрана 11 дюймов не отменяются.

Сверхтонкие и экономичные OLED телевизоры Sony на органических светодиодах с успехом демонстрировались в начале года на выставке CES 2010. Между тем в Японии этот телевизионный формат не получил распространения и месячный объем продаж составил лишь около 2000 штук.

Представитель компании заявил, мы не находим потребности в этих телевизорах на японском рынке, однако продолжим исследования, производство и продажи на других континентах.

Сравнивая восторженную реакцию посетителей выставки CES 2010 на появление Sony XEL-1 с прохладным приемом этого телевизора на японских островах, остается удивляться то ли японскому менталитету, то ли насыщенности их рынка технологическими новинками.
