Японская компания Zeon объявила о разработке поляризационной пленки для LCD экранов, которая более чем в 10 раз повышает контрастность изображения на экранах жидкокристаллических телевизоров. Компания уже продает пленки для экранов телевизоров Samsung и других производителей, где используется технология вертикальной поляризации.<br />Новинка технологии Zeon - полимерные пленки с использованием эффекта фазового сдвига, подходит для LCD матриц на основе технологии IPS, которую кроме Samsung используют, к примеру, Panasonic и Hitachi.  Пленка Zeon устраняет рассеивание света от источника фоновой подсветки, позволяя получать более четкое изображение. Zeon намеревается в течение этого года наладить массовое производство новой пленки для LCD экранов до 40 дюймов и более. Компания заявляет, что пленка позволяет также увеличить и углы обзора.
