Работая совместно с чипсетом 945GE и графическим ядром GMA950, современная платформа Intel Atom обеспечивает максимальное разрешение в 1900х1200 точек и с трудом справляется с декодированием видеосигнала 720p. Как-то исправить эту ситуацию призвана новая платформа, получившая имя Pineview, запуск которой планируется Intel на следующий год. Но настоящим прорывом в этой области обещает стать 2011 год.<br /><br />В 2011 году компания Intel планирует выпустить второе поколение платформы Atom – Cedarview, – где в центральный процессор будет полностью интегрирована графическая подсистема, в отличие от современного дискретного решения. Производство планируется осуществлять по 32-нм техпроцессу. Новый GPU будет поддерживать  DirectX 10.1 и OpenGL 3.0. Утверждается, что новая платформа сможет без труда воспроизводить видеоданные c разрешением Full HD 1080p и развёрткой 120 герц, а также будет поддерживать интерфейсы HDMI 1.3a и DisplayPort для вывода видеосигнала на внешний монитор или телевизор. Заявленное максимально разрешение для DisplayPort составит 2560х1600 точек при 60 герцах.
