Запрет на ввоз техники корейской компании в страну поставил точку в судебной тяжбе, растянувшейся на два года. В 2007 году японская компания Sharp обвинила Samsung в нарушении пяти патентов при производстве жидкокристаллических дисплеев. Длительные переговоры о совместном использовании разработок не принесли плодов. Тогда Sharp подала иск на южно-корейскую компанию и решила в судебном порядке добиться возмещения ущерба и запретить продажу продукции, нарушающей ее патентные права.<br /><br />Комитет по международной торговле США поддержал позицию Sharp. И ввел запрет на импорт в страну мониторов, телевизоров и другой продукции Samsung Electronics, которая нарушает патентные права.
