На сегодняшний день, в ассортименте практически всех известных брендов можно найти плееры ценовой категории до 200 американских долларов с полноценной поддержкой BD-Live и сетевых сервисов для просмотра потокового видео.<br /><br />Как сообщается, примерно восемь из десяти Blu-ray проигрывателей, проданных за восемь первых месяцев этого года, имели цену до $300, тогда как в прошлом году в тот же период времени соотношение было иным – всего один из десяти. В отчёте агентства также указывается, что доля рынка BD-плееров составляет ныне 15% от всех продаваемых на территории США проигрывателей – Blu-ray и DVD.<br /><br />65% BD-плееров, проданных за первые 8 месяцев года, находились в ценовой категории $200–299$, притом, что по итогам продаж за аналогичный период 2008, 75%  проигрывателей имели цену в диапазоне 300-399 американских долларов. Таким образом, можно констатировать среднее падение цен за год – $100.<br /><br />В четвёртом квартале прошлого года, подавляющее большинство предлагаемых недорогих Blu-ray проигрывателей не имели функциональности BD-Live и были произведены безымянными производителями. В этом году в недорогом сегменте до $200 представлены устройства именитых брендов (Panasonic DMP-BD60, Samsung BD-P1600 и LG BD370) с полноценной поддержкой BD-Live и потокового видео.
