Согласно опубликованной в сети Интернет информации, их применение возможно с дисплеями вплоть до 40 дюймов по диагонали. Разработчики обещают, что телевизоры, выполненные с использованием технологии Vikuiti Optical Film, будут потреблять на 32% меньше электроэнергии, нежели их стандартные аналоги. При этом качество изображения, цветопередача и яркость «картинки» не пострадают. Кроме того, инженеры 3M обещают улучшенные (в сравнении с нынешними) углы обзора панелей, а также более однородную цветопередачу по всему экрану.<br /><br />Увидеть новинки «живьём» можно будет, посетив выставку FPD International, которая стартует на следующей недели в Японии. О коммерческом использовании данных ЖК-панелей пока ничего не известно.
