Компания Plextor представила пишущий BD-привод PX-B940SA, способный записывать диски BD-R DL/SL со скоростью 12х. Сообщается, что это первый в мире 12-скоростной пишущий BD-привод, однако Pioneer анонсировала такой продукт месяц назад. Для подключения к ПК используется SATA-интерфейс, устройство имеет 4-МБ буфер. Помимо Blu-ray, новинка поддерживает чтение и запись дисков DVD и CD. В комплекте с устройством поставляется комплект ПО: InterVideo WindDVD 8, Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 и Burn. Now 4.5.
