С появлением нетбуков и мини-компьютеров на базе платформы nVidia ION, мощности которой вполне достаточно для воспроизведения видео высокой чёткости, стал актуальным выпуск внешних Blu-ray приводов. Одним из первых производителей, отличившихся на данном поприще, стал известный тайваньский производитель компьютерной техники Asus. Вчера стало известно о выходе внешнего Blu-ray-комбо Asus SBC-04D1S-U. Этот привод имеет Slim-исполнение и позволяет проигрывать диски Blu-ray, а также воспроизводить и записывать на «болванки» DVD и CD.

Примечателен тот факт, что новинка не требует подключения к электросети, довольствуясь напряжением, доступным по шине USB. Но есть одно существенное «НО». Для этого потребуется не один, как обычно, а два свободных разъёма USB на вашем ПК или ноутбуке. Устройство уже доступно в продаже. Его цена в американских интернет-магазинах находится в диапазоне от 175 до 200 долларов.
