Во время презентации, камера в режиме реального времени, «сливала» не компрессированные видеоданные высокого разрешения в формате 1080p с развёрткой 60 герц на ноутбук через карту расширения SuperSpeed USB ExpressCard производства Fresco Logic.<br /><br />Как ожидается, первыми серийными ноутбуками со встроенным контроллером USB 3.0 станут устройства производства Fujitsu. Именно с их помощью можно будет замерить реальную скорость передачи данных со внешнего жёсткого диска Buffalo, оснащённого интерфейсом USB 3.0. Кроме того, в скором времени компания Asus представит новую версию материнской платы на чипсете X58, оснащённую контроллером USB 3.0 / UASP.<br /><br />Как утверждается, новый формат способен передавать данные с пиковой скоростью в 5 гигабит в секунду. Таким образом, теоретически, файл объёмом в 25 гигабайт должен копироваться не более 70 секунд. Для сравнения, по USB 2.0, тот же файл будет передаваться около 15 минут. Судя по всему, энергопотребление устройств, работающих по протоколу USB 3.0, будет несколько выше, чем у 2.0. При этом, обратная совместимость будет сохранена.
