Вслед за Yamaha и Sherwood, за обновление модельного ряда проигрывателей нового поколения взялась японская корпорация Sharp: точнее, не множества Blu-Ray плееров, а лишь одного, флагмана компании — BD-UP50U. Отныне на этом ответственном посту его заменит модель BD-UP52U. В отличие от предшественника, соответствующего спецификациям старой версии BD-Live 1.1, новинка поддерживает новый стандарт BD-Live 2.0, имеет командный порт RS-232, при помощи которого, плеер может быть легко интегрирован в систему умного дома.<br /><br />Как и полагается Blu-Ray плееру последнего поколения, BD-UP50U имеет встроенный сетевой интерфейс и поддерживает большинство известных звуковых форматов. На сегодняшний день, увы, отсутствует поддержка популярных онлайн-сервисов. Судя по заявлению разработчиков, в недалёком будущем они планируют исправить это недоразумение путём обновления программного обеспечения.<br /><br />На прилавках американских магазинов новый плеер появится в октябре. Его рекомендованная розничная цена на момент старта продаж составит $379.99.<br /><br />
