На открывшейся в Атланте выставке CEDIA, одним из главных ньюс-мэйкеров стала компания Sony, представившая публике американские версии своих флагманов — ЖК-телевизоров BRAVIA серии ZX5 с диагоналями экрана 46 и 52 дюйма, которые в США будут продаваться под индексом XBR10.

Согласно заявлению представителей компании, каждый из телевизоров этой серии оснащён дисплеем со стандартной периферийной светодиодной подсветкой и, как следствие, имеет «утончённый» корпус. Физическое разрешение матриц новинок ожидаемо — 1920×1080 точек (FullHD 1080p), а заявленная характеристика отношения контраста 1 000 000:1. Примечательно также, что оба дисплея поддерживают развёртку в 240 Гц, имеют встроенную сетевую карту и способны работать с онлайн-сервисами Amazon VOD, Netflix и YouTube, а также проигрывать Интернет радио и музыкальные композиции со Slacker. Кроме того, телевизоры Sony, как и раньше, имеют сертификат DLNA, поддерживают виджеты Yahoo и совместимы с Twitter.

Среди особенностей новинок стоит отметить комплектный набор оборудования для организации беспроводной связи 60GHz Wireless HD, который призван обеспечить достаточный канал для передачи полноценного видеосигнала в формате 1080p с развёрткой 60 герц.

Новые телевизоры Sony должны появиться в продаже в октябре этого года. Рекомендованная розничная цена младшей 46-дюймовой модели составит 4500 долларов США, а её старшей 52-дюймовой «сестры» — $5000
