Это достаточно странно, если вспомнить, что главный финансовый директор Sony в прошлом месяце заявил инвесторам о сокращении примерно на 70 процентов производственных расходов, связанных с изготовлением PlayStation 3. То есть исходя из того, что во время выпуска игровой консоли, состоявшегося в 2006 году, расходы на ее производство составляли 800 долларов, теперь они должны составлять около 240 долларов.<br /><br />Немаловажно и то, что игровая приставка PS3 Slim получила новый процессор Cell, изготовленный по более «тонкому» и эффективному 45 нм тех. процессу и ставший более компактным и экономичным. В любом случае, необходимо подчеркнуть, что в самом факте продажи консоли по цене ниже себестоимости нет ничего нового и необычного для игровой индустрии. Ведь современная игровая консоль продается не сама по себе, а как часть платформы, включающей в себя аппаратную и программную составляющую, а также различные периферийные устройства и сервисы. Таким образом, производитель легко может компенсировать свои потери за счет продаж развлекательного контента и всевозможных аксессуаров.<br />
