В свою очередь, продажи Blu-Ray рекордеров в Японии к обычным записывающим устройствам с установленными DVD-приводами составили соотношение семь к трём, согласно данным агентства GfK Marketing Services Japan.<br /><br />Но, несмотря на это, многие владельцы таких проигрывателей жалуются на недостаток дисков Blu-Ray в видео-прокатах. К примеру, крупнейший прокатчик Японии Tsunaya, входящий в сеть Culture Convenience Club, заявляет о примерно трёх сотнях предлагаемых наименований на Blu-Ray, в то время как на полках этого заведения можно найти более сорока тысяч обычных DVD.<br /><br />И здесь нет ничего удивительного. Любой процесс перехода на новые типы носителей и форматы занимает продолжительное время. Ведь многие прокаты ещё совсем недавно закончили замену VHS дисками DVD, а здесь ещё этот Blu-Ray...<br /><br />Но даже если говорить о текущих релизах, видео-прокатам едва ли удастся сбалансировать предложение DVD и Blu-Ray ввиду того, что разница в количестве выпускаемых новинок для этих двух форматов остаётся весьма заметной. Так, к примеру, согласно данным ассоциации Japan Video Software Association, в июне месяце вышло 494 фильма на DVD, разрешённых для проката. К сожалению, подобных данных для Blu-Ray эта организация не предоставляет, но судя по официальным данным, лишь 10-20 процентов из 168 выпущенных Blu-Ray в том же самом месяце, имеют прокатную лицензию.<br /><br />Всем известно, что голливудские студии более активно и даже агрессивно продвигают в массы Blu-Ray, нежели другие участники видеорынка. Что касается японских издателей, то они, в массе своей, занимают выжидательную позицию, отказываясь форсировать события до тех пор, пока формат не получит должного широкого распространения.
